First Semester courses 2009

Ok which courses did I study for the BSc. (Hons) in Petroleum Engineering in Institut Teknologi Brunei?

In the 1st semester of my study which I commenced in July 2009, there are the courses I attended,

1. Introductory to Physics 1

2. Introductory to Petroleum Industry

3. Introductory to Advanced Engineering Mathematics

4. General Chemistry 1

5. Introductory to Computer Systems and Information Technology

6. Design and Innovation 1

7. Communication skills

Just for everyone information, in ITB there were no options given to student to choose when and which course they want to attend in each individual semester. So as per my case, I attended all the seven mentioned courses above in our first semester. I cannot deny that it was very tough to split time between study and Entertainment especially it was your first time to study in University standard level.

However, It was not wrong to mention that what I learned in ITB is kinda much for the first year student. We lost nothing but gain more knowledges...

When comparing to the University of New South Wales (UNSW) the current students there only studied 4 courses per semester in the 1^st year (as well as in the 2^nd, 3^rd and 4^th semester). So if I pursue my study in UNSW directly this will be list of courses that I have to attend in my first year:-

1. Mathematics 1A

2. Design & Innovation

3. Physics 1A

4. Introductory to the Petroleum Engineering

It is not that much!!! J hehe
